OMG is proud to be a part of the York County Sheriff's Office K9 fundraiser Run Walk Wag event at John Rudy Park . We will be there from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m.
The address is 400 Mundis Race Rd, York, PA 17406.
There will be tons of activities taking place throughout the day including:
· Remembrance Ceremony recognizing local law enforcement officers that died in the line of duty at 0745 am.
· York County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit fundraiser 5K Run / Walk / Wag Event (There is a fee for this event). Unlike most 5K Events, dogs are not only invited, but encouraged to attend!
o Pre-registration has begun for this event
o Registration day of available from 0700-0800
o 5K Run starts at 0800
o 5K Walk starts at 0830
o “Dogs” are encouraged to bring their owners to the event
o Free dog toys to all dogs that come
o Prizes for top 3 runners, walkers, and children
o Special Prize for “Best Dog Costume”
o Special Prize for “Best Person in a costume”
· Free Child Bike Helmet Give Away / Helmet Fitting 0900-1200
Sgt. Wesley Williams from the Sheriff’s Office Crime Prevention Unit will be giving away new bicycle helmets courtesy of Life Path to children until they run out. Sgt. Williams will also be available to test helmets in use by children to ensure they are properly fitting.
· Child Fingerprinting 0800-1200
The Sheriff’s Office Crime Prevention Unit will be offering child fingerprinting to everyone.
· Static Display of County Resources. The following vehicles will be on display for everyone to see:
o Sheriff’s Office Transport Van
o Sheriff’s Office Cruiser
o QRT Bearcat
o York County District Attorney’s Office Forensic Van
o Springettsbury Township Police Department Vehicle
o StatEvac Helicopter
· There will be local agencies, Non-Profit groups, and companies giving out gifts, handouts, and information.
· At 1000, there will be a K9 Demonstration showing the capabilities of these special dogs.
